My Charity Consultancy story
I absolutely love the thrill of hiking and it struck me one beautiful day whilst out on the South West Coast Path that organisational success can be achieved in the same way
I thrive from the sense of achievement I feel when I have completed a challenging walk, taking confidence in the trust that I have placed in my map and compass to help navigate my path & course correct when needed
But most importantly, walking helps me to think differently, try alternative routes and view the landscape in a completely different way
I started to ask myself why don't charities power their communities by implementing strategies, change initiatives or fundraising plans in the same way - pushing them further towards making their vision a reality?
The Community Navigator was born

Senior Leader Charity Expertise
Before owning my own consultancy I most recently held senior leadership roles for the RNLI and Shelter
I was the Director for Community Services and National Contracts at Shelter, transforming operating models to tackle the root causes of bad housing and homelessness contributing to national housing policy reform
At the RNLI, I developed the User Experience strategy for IT infrastructure deployment, ensuring that the voices of over 40,000 staff and volunteers informed the development of new systems and processes
Professional Qualifications and Accreditations
Graduating from the University of Hull with an MA in Development Studies, Non – Government Organisations and Service Design, I also have Change Management and Prince 2 Practitioner Accreditation
Charity Board Experience
I know how to lead effective charity governance and assurance through extensive board experience at BCHA and Home- Start
Hobbies & Interests
When I am not working with charities you will normally find me hill climbing on the South West Coast Path or exploring the wilds of Dartmoor with my husband, Craig. A northerner by birth - I am Rugby League Superfan and Fish and Chip Supper aficionado!
